Design + Architecture: 5-day Camp 1

About this event

A 5-day Holiday Camp designed for children to explore various make and build projects; to test ideas through hands-on exploration, training dexterity, creative and critical thinking while learning new skills.

On day 1, children will learn Basic Introduction to TinkerCAD + 3D Printing (Level 1).

Guided by experienced instructors and 3D printing specialists, children will learn TinkerCAD to create a mini stationery pot before exporting it to a 3D printer for printing. Children will witness the process of their digital form being printed from scratch.

While waiting for the 3D print, students will continue to explore TinkerCAD digital space; learning how to use the software as a design tool to create various digital forms. This immersive hands-on learning will empower them to envision, design, and shape their future prototypes.

On day 2, students will delve deeper into the exploration of TinkerCAD, mastering more advanced modelling techniques to design, model and 3D print their own creations.

Learning techniques to finish their mini 3D printed designs

On Day 3 to 5, students will Design a Home for their Family.

Students will apply Design Thinking principles in understanding the needs and challenges of who they are designing for and be introduced to the basics of space planning for a home.

Students will translate their 2D planning to 3D model with consideration for architectural scale, light, ventilation, views and communal landscape areas in their design. They will learn basic model-making skills and get creative transforming everyday materials into their individual home model prototype. Every child’s home design will be different and unique catered to their needs!
